NCS in Colour Forecasting
The Directive is a very early biannual colour forecast produced by Jill Lawrence Design International, which illustrates a broad vision of trends, influences and colour, with specific reference to surface, texture, material and print. For industries concerned with future directions, it offers specific colour forecasts, using the Natural Colour System as a guideline throughout.
"Using the NCS colour system for our predictions is the most effective method we have found, as it has the widest range of colour and is available in large scale format. This allows us to give our customers colour swatches and fanbooks for our forecasts on request, and makes The Directive much more of a working tool rather than something that sits on the bookshelf. The way in which each colour is blended from a combination of yellow, red, blue and green, with white and black to create the palette, makes understanding shade and tone a more intuitive process, enabling us to discuss colour concepts with our clients in a way everyone can understand."
